GM is recalling 42,408 6 cyl. Saturn Vues over a possible power steering fluid leak that could cause a fire. The recall is effective for all vehicles manufactured from February to July of 2008, covering a significant portion of Saturn Vues from both the 2008 and 2009 model years. Although no accidents have been reported, GM is getting proactive and has announced their plans to rectify the problem.
The recall is expected to begin on September 26, and owners of Saturn Vues affected by the recall will be instructed to bring their vehicles to the dealership. Dealers will then perform an inspection, tightening the nut and checking the fluid levels. In related news, RideLust just managed to use “fluid leak,” “nut check”, and the semi-dirty “rectify” in the same post without resorting to any obvious innuendos. Please, no applause.
